The New Zealand Refining Company Limited (NZRC) operates New Zealand’s only oil refinery at Marsden Point near Whangarei. The refinery is the nation’s leading supplier of refined petroleum products. Four oil companies – BP, Chevron, Mobil and Aotea Energy are significant shareholders and customers. NZRC is listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange.
The great thing about the Westpac Northland Business Excellence Awards is that they celebrate the many achievements of enterprising businesses in the region. Winning an award was a very proud moment for all of us at the refinery - and was a very public signal that our focus on safety and reliability, meeting the needs of customers and employing talented people was the way to business success. There's always much you can learn from leaders in business, no matter what size or sector they're in.
