Awards History

1977 saw the inaugural Whangarei Retail Business Awards established with no clue that they would become Northland's premier annual business event. The event far has secured a significant place on Northland's event calendar.

Initiated by the Northland Chamber of Commerce in association with the Northern Advocate and RadioWorks the aim of the Northland Business Awards, is to celebrate business innovation, excellence and achievement.

All entries are judged by an independent panel comprising of Northland senior business executives along with an independent panel from Massey Albany Campus.

The Awards, which culminate in a glittering Gala Dinner in October each year, help the Northland Chamber of Commerce fulfill its role by showcasing and encouraging excellence, innovation and achievement in Northland business.
